LED Light Description for Coredy E300 Extender

How to Setup the Coredy E300 Extender?

In order to set up the extender, you will have to follow the steps given below.

Powering On the Extender

Power on the extender by turning the On/Off button to ‘On’. Thereafter, you will have to set the Mode Switch Button on ‘Repeater’. This is present on the side of your extender. Now, you will have to plug in the extender to a power source that is present in the same room as the Wi-Fi router.

You need to be close to the Wi-Fi just during the initial process of setup.

Connecting to an Existing Wi-Fi Network

For extending the Wi-Fi network range, you have to connect the extender with the help of the existing Wi-Fi network. You will have to follow one of the two ways given below.

  1. First Method: By Connecting with a Web Browser
  2. Second Method: Connect with WPS

These methods have been discussed elaborately below:

Connecting Coredy E300 with a Web Browser

  1. You need a Wi-Fi network manager on your mobile device or computer for finding out and then connecting it to the Wi-Fi network of the Extender that is named ‘Coredy E300’. Thereafter, type in the password or the PIN number present at the extender’s rear panel.
  2. Next, you will have to open a web browser and type http://ap.setup/ or http://192.168.10.1/ in the web browser’s address field. If asked, you will have to enter the username as ‘admin’ and the password as ‘admin’. Both of them are in lowercase.
  3. Now, you will have to click on ‘Repeater’ that you will find inside ‘Mode Wizard’.
  4. You will then have click on the ‘Select’ button for choosing the Wi-Fi network for extending. Remember to click on the ‘Refresh’ in case the wireless Network list doesn’t load successfully.
  5. In the space designated to ‘Key’ or Network Password, you will have to type the password to the existing Wi-Fi network. This is also called the security key or passphrase. Thereafter, you need to click on ‘Apply’ and wait for a minute to allow the extender to reboot.
  6. Next, you will have to find out and connect to the extended Wi-Fi network. The new name of the new Wi-Fi network of the extender is ‘Coredy E300_Ext”. For this, you will have to use the same Wi-Fi password as you used for the router.
    Note:

    In case you cannot connect the extender to the router, the WLAN LED is going to keep blinking and the new name of Wi-Fi network is not going to change to ‘Coredy E300_EXT”.

  7. Now, you will have to unplug the extender and then move to a new location which is around halfway between the router and the region that has poor router signal.
    The location you have selected should be within the range of the network of the existing Wi-Fi router. The next step is to use WLAN LED 1-LED 3 for helping to select the right spot where the router to the extender connection is optimal.
  8. If just the WLAN LED 1 light is amber, plug in the extender into the outlet that is close to the router and then try once more.

Make sure that you keep on moving the extender to the routers that are in close proximity of the router until WLAN LED 1, LED 2, and LED 3 light amber at the same time.

Note: Make sure that you place the extender in a raised-up location and make sure that there are fewer ceilings and walls between your router and the other devices.

Connecting Coredy e300 repeater with WPS

Wi-Fi Protected Network or (WPS) will allow you to become a part of a secure Wi-Fi network without typing in the name and password of the router. Don’t forget that the WPS doesn’t support WEP network security. In case you are using WEP security, you will have to follow the instructions provided for connecting using a web browser.

  1. Firstly, you will have to press on the WPS button that is present on the extender’s front panel and the WPS LED is going to blink.
  2. Just within 2 minutes, you will have to press the WPS button present on the access point or the router. As soon as the extender is connected to your existing Wi-Fi network successfully, the new Wi-Fi network of the extender is going to change. It will become ‘Coredy E300_EXT” and WLAN LED1-LED is going to show amber color. Now, you will have to confirm it on the Wi-Fi device or the computer. In case the extender is unable to connect to the existing Wi-Fi network, you will have to try again. If it fails to work, you should connect it with the help of the web browser.
  3. Now, you will have to unplug the extender and then move on to a new location which is midway between the router the region that has poor signal. The location you have selected should be within the range of the network of the existing Wi-Fi router.
  4. To choose the right spot to make sure that the extender-to-router connection signal, you can take the help of WLAN LED 1- LED 3.
  5. In case only the WLAN LED 1 light is amber, you have to plug in the extender to a power source and then try again. Make sure that you keep on moving the extender to an outlet that is close to the router till WLAN LED 1, LED 2, and LED 3 light turns to amber at the same time.
    Note: You will have to place the router in a raised-up location and minimize the ceiling and walls between your router and the devices.
  6. Next, you will have to find out and connect the new extended Wi-Fi network on your Wi-Fi device or computer.

The extender is going to build a new extended Wi-Fi network. The new Wi-Fi network name of the extender is ‘Coredy E-300_Ext’. Make sure that you use the password that you used for the Wi-Fi router.

Note: In case the extender is unable to connect to the router, the WLAN LED is going to continue blinking and the new Wi-Fi network of the network will not change to ‘Coredy E300_Ext’.

USING Koredy e300 wi-Fi extender AS AN ACCESS POINT

The Coredy E300 Wi-Fi Range Extender can also serve as the Access Point. It is a point that receives data through Ethernet like the one that you see in a hotel’s wired Ethernet and can convert to 2.4 Gig HZ wireless signal. Cable the Access Point
  1. Firstly, you will have to switch on the Access Point. For this, you will have to change the ‘On/Off’ button to ‘On’ and the Mode Switch to ‘Access Point’. You will find the Mode Switch button at the side of the repeater. Thereafter, you will have to plug the Access Point to the electrical outlet.
  2. Now, you will have to connect the Access Point to the wired Ethernet port with the help of the Ethernet cable that you received with the access point.
  3. Take your mobile and computer to use the Wi-Fi network manager to find out and connect to the access point Wi-Fi network, Coredy E300. Now, you will have to type in the password or PIN number on the rear panel AP’s label, if necessary.
  4. Next, you will have to open your preferred web browser and enter http://ap.setup/admin or http://192.168.10.1/ in the address space when asked. Then enter the username and password. For both, you have to enter ‘admin’.
  5. Click on the Access Point in the field of Mode Wizard.
  6. Choose the Security Type as WAP/WPA2 Mixed and type in the password in the Key field of the Wi-Fi network.
  7. Click on the Apply button and give the Access Point a minute to reboot.
  8. Now, you will have to find out and connect the newly connected Wi-Fi network on your Wi-Fi device or computer.
    The Access Point will create a newly formed extended Wi-Fi network. The new Wi-Fi network name of the Access Point is ‘Coredy E300’ and you will have to use the password you have set for the Wi-Fi.

USING Coredy AS A ROUTER

You can also use the Coredy E300 Wi-Fi Range Extender as a router. Given below are the steps to set it up.

  • Prepare the Modem and unplug it from the power source. In case it has a battery backup, you have to remove the battery.
  • Next, you will have to connect the modem. Then you have to put in the battery. The modem’s cable to the Coredy router’s blue WAN port.
  • The step that follows is to power on the router. Switch the power On/Off button to ‘On’ and Mode Switch to coredy e300 Router. This is present on the router’s side panel. Thereafter, you have to plug in the router to an electrical outlet.
  • Now, connect a computer and you will be able to use the Ethernet cable or connect with the Wi-Fi.
    It is better to use a Smartphone for connecting to the Wi-Fi. The default name of the Wi-Fi network is Coredy E300 and then type of the PIN Number and password on the label present on the router, if necessary.
  • Open a web browser and enter ap.setup/admin or http://192.168.10.1/ in its address field. When you are asked, you will have to enter the username and password that is admin. Keep in mind that both are in the lower case.
  • Click on Router present on the coredy Mode Wizard field.
  • Your next step is to configure the internet connection. Prior to connecting to the internet, you will have to follow the instructions for setting up the router. In case you are unable to locate the information, you can talk to your internet service provider to get it.
